Giovanni Stea received the Laurea degree (summa cum laude) and the PhD degree in Computer Systems Engineering from the University of Pisa, Italy, in 1999 and 2003 respectively. Starting from January 2004, he has been with the Department of Information Engineering, where he is now Full Professor and Executive Director of the FoReLab project.

Research Interests

The main research area of Giovanni Stea is Quality of Service in multi-service networks, therein including:

  • Algorithms for QoS provisioning in packet networks (scheduling, admission control, QoS routing, etc.)
  • Performance Evaluation via simulation and analytical techniques, e.g. Network Calculus
  • Multi-access Edge Computing
  • Mobile Network Architectures (4G/5G/6G)
