INTEGRATED FUMO CODE VALIDATION

No direct validation of an integrated code can be presently performed

Validation for so long transients is difficult due
to lack of applicable scaled experimental data
for combined PS & containment behaviour
ò

Separately validate Primary System  & Containment FUMO

FUMO Containment CONTAINMENT MODULE ASSESSMENT

Numerical Benchmark Problems to verify the reliability of models
Separate Effect Tests on relevant containment phenomena
ISPs in different geometrical scales for multi-compartment validation:
FIPLOC F2, VANAM M2* & M3 in BMC (D)
LACE Program in CSTF (USA)
T31.5 & E11.2 in large HDR (D) facility
M-7-1 at NUPEC (J)

FUMO PS PS MODULE ASSESSMENT

Usual assessment procedure not applicable because of:
model simplicity & main module goal
supply containment module with
realistic boundary conditions in long term

Model shakedown - comparison with PS codes for relevant transients
Assessment on PS simulators (PO-IC & SPES-2) - satisfactory prediction of integral facilities (SBWR & AP600) behaviour

PIPER-ONE - Lower plenum pressure

PIPER-ONE - IC Power
