INTEGRATED APPROACH TO TH ANALYSIS

Traditional serial approach: neither right boundary conditions are available to study PS nor correct source terms are obtained for containment pressurisation & long term cooling

Informatic coupling of assessed PS codes & proven containment ones
First approach: PS codes adopted for advanced reactors adapted to represent the containment in a simplified way
Right approach: development & assessment of tools using the same basic equations & closure laws for both the systems, assuring that all terms that are responsible of coupling are directly considered

A further integration step must be added for ST analysis:

Pisa University DCMN of Pisa University started the TH integrated approach by upgrading the FUMO code,
developed to analyse containment transients,
with the introduction of a simplified PS module
