TeXniscope

(v0.3.4 - Dic. 2004)

TeXniscope is a DVI/PDF previewer for MacOSX. It has a simple user interface and it is capable of synchronization (forward/backward) with an external editor (e.g. Emacs) both for DVI files (using the src-ltx package) and PDF files (using the pdfsync package).

Out of the box it works with teTeX (installed through Gerben Wierda's iInstaller) and Emacs (Enhanced Carbon Emacs). However it can be configured to work with other installations (give a look at the Preferences and at the Help). In particular Alpha support has been added (thanks to Joachim Kock).

The program is still in his beta development (currently v0.3). However it is already usable. The DVI files are internally translated to PDF using an embedded version of dvipdfmx and then feed through the Quartz PDF rendering routines.

The current version (v0.3) does not work in OSX 10.2.
