The research activities are focused on theoretical and experimental study on Tilting pad journal bearings for turbomachinery.
A novel experimental apparatus for testing tilting pad journal bearings has been designed and built at the Department of Civil and Industrial Engineering of the University of Pisa in the frame of a collaboration with GE Oil&Gas and AM Testing srl.
Several activities are planned for the static and dynamic characterization of tilting pad journal bearings:
